Short version: Use Checked Out for its intended purpose — planning meals for your household. Don't misuse it. Checked Out is a paid subscription service; see Section 4 for pricing and billing. Features may still evolve as we improve the product, and we'll do our best to give you notice of material changes.

1. Acceptance of Terms
Checked Out is operated by Key True Consulting, LLC ("Checked Out," "we," or "us"). By creating an account or using Checked Out, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Checked Out. By using the service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and, if you use the service on behalf of any minor household member, that you are the minor's parent, legal guardian, or otherwise legally authorized to act for them.
2. The Service
Checked Out is an AI-powered meal planning service that generates personalized weekly meal plans and a categorized shopping list based on your household's preferences and dietary needs. Features and outputs may evolve over time as we improve the service. Checked Out does not currently connect to any grocery retailer's account or online cart.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We'll use reasonable efforts to give you advance notice of material changes, particularly changes that affect features you're paying for.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. Use a strong password and don't share your credentials.
One account per person. You may add household members to your account, but you represent that you have all permissions and authority necessary to provide information about them and to use the service on their behalf and, if any household member is a minor, that you are the minor's parent, legal guardian, or otherwise legally authorized to act for them, and you are responsible for ensuring that your use of the service on their behalf complies with these terms.

4. Subscription & Billing
Pricing and billing cycle. Checked Out offers a paid subscription at $9.99 per month or $99 per year, billed to the payment method you provide. Your household's subscription covers all household members you add — no one else needs to pay separately. The subscription terms presented to you at signup or checkout, including pricing, renewal terms, trial terms, and cancellation information, apply to your subscription, subject to any later changes made in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
Free trial. New subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. Your payment method is required to start the trial. During the trial, plan generation is limited to your next 2 weeks; all other features are fully available. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged automatically at the end of the 14 days, and your subscription will continue on the plan (monthly or annual) you selected. Each person is eligible for one free trial; if you've already used a trial on a previous or another household, a new subscription will begin immediately at the full price with no trial period, and we'll tell you this clearly before you're charged. We'll send you an acknowledgment that includes the material terms of your trial and subscription, our cancellation policy, and information on how to cancel, in a form you can retain. We'll also send you a reminder before the trial ends so you can cancel before you are charged.
Auto-renewal. Your subscription will continue and automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, matching your plan) at the then-current price for your plan unless you cancel. Before you submit your payment information and complete signup, we'll present the material terms of the automatic-renewal offer clearly and conspicuously, in visual proximity to the consent mechanism, including that the subscription will continue until canceled, the plan you selected and whether billing is monthly or annual, the renewal term, the amount and frequency of recurring charges, when the first charge will occur, any applicable free-trial terms and what you'll be charged when the trial ends, how to cancel, that cancellation stops future renewals only, and how to contact us for billing issues. To complete signup, you must take an affirmative action by which you expressly consent to the automatic-renewal terms and authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis for the applicable monthly or annual subscription fee until you cancel. We'll send you an acknowledgment of your subscription terms, cancellation policy, cancellation information, any applicable trial-end information, the amount and timing of your next expected charge, and customer support contact information in a form you can retain. If you are on an annual plan, we'll also send you a reminder between 30 and 45 days before the plan renews, unless applicable law requires a different timing window. If we materially change the automatic-renewal terms, we'll send you clear notice and information on how to cancel in a form you can retain before the change takes effect. We may provide additional disclosures, notices, reminders, or requests for consent when required by applicable law. We maintain records of your affirmative consent as required by applicable law. We do not currently offer a way to switch off auto-renewal while keeping the subscription active — canceling ends the subscription at the end of the period you've already paid for.
How to cancel. You can cancel anytime through Settings → Billing → Manage billing, which takes you to a secure billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then, and we do not charge you again after that. There is no cancellation fee. You can also cancel by deleting your account entirely (Settings → Delete account). Account deletion cancels your subscription and ends your access to the service when the deletion is completed, as part of erasing your data — see our Privacy Policy for what account deletion does.
Refunds. Subscription charges are generally non-refundable — canceling stops future charges, but you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for rather than receiving money back for it. Nothing in this section limits any refund or credit required by applicable law, any correction of billing errors, any remedy for unauthorized charges, or any rights you may have to dispute charges with your card issuer or payment provider. We may also issue a refund or credit at our discretion, for example if you contact us shortly after a charge about a billing problem. Requesting a refund does not guarantee one. If you believe a charge was incorrect, email hello@checkedoutapp.com.
Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we'll send you clear notice of the new price and information on how to cancel in a form you can retain, by email or other reasonable electronic means, at least 30 days before the new price takes effect, and you'll be able to cancel before being charged the new amount. Prices already locked in for existing subscribers at signup are not changed without this notice.
No store or cart integration. The shopping list included with your plan is generated from your plan's ingredients for your own reference. Checked Out does not currently connect to any grocery retailer's account, and prices shown are estimates only.

You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the service in unauthorized ways
- Use automated systems to access the service beyond normal use
- Impersonate another person or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent

6. Your Content
You retain ownership of the information you provide to Checked Out — your household profiles, preferences, and meal logs. You represent that you have the right to provide this information to us. By using the service, you grant Checked Out a limited license and right to host, store, process, and use this information to provide, maintain, and improve the service.
We may use aggregated or de-identified data that does not reasonably identify you to understand usage patterns and improve the service.
7. Health & Dietary Information
Checked Out generates meal plans based on the preferences and dietary restrictions you provide. Checked Out is not a medical service and does not provide medical, nutritional, or clinical advice. Meal plans are generated by artificial intelligence, may contain errors, and are not reviewed by a licensed healthcare provider.
The content provided by Checked Out is for general meal planning convenience only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition or to replace professional medical or nutritional advice.
If you or any member of your household has a medical condition, food allergy, eating disorder, or specific clinical nutrition needs, you should consult a qualified healthcare provider — such as a physician or registered dietitian — before relying on any meal plan generated by this service. This applies whether you are using Checked Out independently or through a coach or wellness professional.
For life-threatening allergies, always verify allergen information independently. AI-generated meal plans cannot guarantee ingredient accuracy or cross-contamination safety.
If you or any member of your household is pregnant or nursing, you should consult a qualified healthcare provider before relying on any meal plan generated by this service.
You are responsible for determining whether any meal plan is appropriate for the health and dietary needs of your household, and by using Checked Out, you acknowledge and accept the limitations described in this section.
If you use Checked Out through a coach, or as a client of a coach or wellness professional, this disclaimer applies to you individually. Your coach's use of this tool does not constitute medical advice from a licensed provider.
8. Third-party Services
Checked Out connects with third-party services including authentication, email delivery, and AI model providers. Those third-party services may change, suspend, or discontinue their features independently of Checked Out. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and our Privacy Policy provides additional information about how data may be processed in connection with the service. We are not responsible for the actions, content, or policies of third-party services.
The shopping list generated with your plan is a convenience feature based on the ingredients in your plan. Prices are estimates only — actual prices, product availability, and substitutions depend on wherever you choose to shop.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. To cancel a paid subscription or delete your account, follow the steps described in Section 4.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or abuse the service. In most cases we'll give you advance notice, but we reserve the right to suspend or terminate immediately if necessary to protect the service or other users.
10. Disclaimers & Liability
Checked Out is provided "as is." We do not make warranties about the accuracy, reliability, availability, or uninterrupted operation of the service, or that the service will be error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Checked Out will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to your use of Checked Out will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which is $0 if you're using Checked Out without a paid subscription).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. We'll notify you of material changes by email. If a change affects your subscription price, billing, or auto-renewal terms, we'll also provide any notice required by Section 4 or applicable law. Your continued use of the service after the effective date of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
The version number and effective date at the top of this page identify exactly which version of these terms is currently live.

13. Ownership & Intellectual Property
Checked Out and the service, including our software, design, text, graphics, logos, and other content, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, we reserve all rights. If you send us feedback or suggestions about Checked Out, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
15. Other Important Terms
You agree that we may provide notices and other communications to you electronically, including by email, through the service, or by posting them online, and that those communications satisfy any legal requirement that they be in writing. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent, but we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the subscription terms presented to you at signup or checkout, are the entire agreement between you and Checked Out regarding the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive termination.
